David Geffen Hall

David Geffen Hall is the home of the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center. To accompany a renovated theater by Diamond Schmitt Architects and expanded public spaces by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, 2x4 designed and implemented a visual identity for the building with a custom typeface, signage & wayfinding, and a digital media strategy.

Interactive touchscreens encourage deeper engagement with the stories of the Hall, while bespoke digital graphics envelop a 50 foot media wall in the Hall’s lobby between livestreams and art commissions.

2x4 designed a full sigange system built around a custom typeface. 

The identity system spans the full visitor experience, from the moment someone approaches the building from the street to the moment they find their seat, unifying architecture, wayfinding, and digital storytelling into a single, cohesive brand experience.
